Exam Day Nears for GATE 2025: Exams on Feb 1, 2, 15, and 16—Admit Card Release Jan 7, Results Out March 19!

The admit card for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 will be issued on January 7, 2025. It was initially scheduled for January 2, but IIT Roorkee has confirmed that the new date is January 7, 2025. To download the important document, candidates will have to visit the official GATE website, gate2025.iitr.ac.in. Without the admit card, no aspirant can take the entrance.

The GATE 2025 exams are scheduled for four dates: February 1, 2, 15, and 16. Candidates can assess their knowledge and proficiency in a wide range of subjects by choosing from 30 available test papers under GATE. Instructions for Downloading GATE 2025 Admit Card

Candidates can follow these simple steps to download their admit cards:

  1. Visit the official website, gate2025.iitr.ac.in.
  2. Log in using your enrollment ID and password.
  3. Locate and click on the “Download Admit Card” link.
  4. Verify the details on the admit card.
  5. Save and print a copy for exam day.

A printed copy of the admit card, along with a valid photo ID, must be brought to the examination center for entry. Candidates should ensure that the photo ID they present matches the information provided during the online registration.

Verify the Following in the Admit Card

Once the candidate gets ready to reach the exam centre, he/she needs to check the admit card for information as follows:

  • Candidate’s Name, Photograph and Signature
  • Enrollment ID and Roll Number
  • Date of Exam, timing, venue particulars
  • Day  and day-wise instruction related to the examination date

If anything is noticed during the examination, it must be reported to the organizing committee of GATE immediately to address any issues in the examination hall on time.

Exam Day Essentials

Compliance with the exam rules would be necessary to avoid any hassle. The candidates need to carry the following:

  • A printout of GATE 2025 admit card
  • A valid photo identity proof could be anywhere in the form of an Aadhaar, passport, driver’s license, etc.

Prohibited items in the examination room are:

  • Electronic gadgets like mobile phones, smart watches, or calculators
  • Books, charts, loose sheets, or any written material
  • Stationery such as personal bags, etc. (except as mentioned in the instructions)

Cases of non-adherence to these rules will lead to disqualification; hence, the candidates are requested to read and adhere to the instructions carefully.

Test Format and Pattern

The GATE 2025 exam is being held as a computer-based test. The question pattern has three kinds of questions:

  1. Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs): Questions with four options, where only one is correct.
  2. Multiple-Select Questions (MSQs): Questions with more than one correct answer.
  3. Numerical Answer Type (NAT) Questions: Questions that require candidates to enter a numerical value.

The duration of the exam is three hours. Candidates can attempt one or two test papers according to their choice and eligibility. Each paper has been prepared to evaluate the candidate’s knowledge of basic concepts in engineering, technology, and science.
